Try a Minute of Gratitude!
With St. Patrick’s Day in just a few days and everyone talking about “luck”, you may be feeling less than lucky with your own life situation. You might see pregnancy announcements everywhere and wondering, “Why are they so lucky and I’m not?” While these thoughts and feelings are 100% valid, sometimes we can get stuck in these thoughts and before we know it, we are experiencing feelings of hopelessness that can be hard to get out of.
So, our tip for this week is to give yourself one minute of mindful gratitude. It may look like this (but do what works for you):
Set aside a minute (or more) that you can devote to gratitude when you are feeling overwhelmed
Set a timer
During this minute, notice the little things around you that maybe you don’t always think about. How do they make you feel? Do they add joy to your life (even just a little)? Maybe it’s the soft blanket on your chair or the tree in your front yard.
If your mind wanders, just bring yourself gently back to the moment.
That’s all there is to it! If you have other ways of expressing gratitude, what are they? We’d love to hear about them.
Thanks for reading!
